Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps patients to understand how their thoughts and feelings influence their behaviors. For someone who is suffering from a wide range of disorders, CBT offers a comfortable treatment style. There are several approaches to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy including Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, Rational Behavior Therapy, Rational Living Therapy, Cognitive Therapy, and Dialectic Behavior Therapy.

CBT is usually an option for patients who are looking for short-term treatments and it is sometimes more affordable than other treatment options. It has become a popular therapy for patients and for treatment professionals because it yields great results for patients with different behavioral problems.

Greenleaf offers Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which is a complete treatment filled with psychological tools that the patient will be able to use for the rest of his/her life. Emotional, psychological, and psychiatric dysfunction can also be treated with CBT by our trained staff. We also offer Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia.

When should I use this therapy?

Different mental health conditions can be treated with CBT such as depression, anxiety, phobias, sleep disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, eating disorders,  substance abuse disorders, personality disorders, and psychotic disorders.

What happens during CBT sessions?

During the sessions, it would require the patient to talk about the different problems that affect his/her life. The patient will work on strategies to change behaviors and thoughts every week, one step a time. It is recommended to have between four (4) to twenty (20) sessions of 45-50 minutes each.
